IPOH: A young man from Kampung Teluk Batu, Lenggong, Khairul Idham Bahari, was crowned champion at the WorldSkills ASEAN Manila 2025 in the Cabinet Making category, held recently in the Philippines.
Perak Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, said that Khairul Idham, who represented Institut Kemahiran MARA (IKM) Lumut, not only brought pride to the state of Perak but also elevated Malaysia’s name on the ASEAN stage.
“This prestigious competition brings together the best participants from across the ASEAN region.
“It tests technical expertise and practical skills across various TVET fields such as engineering technology, design, construction, automation, and fine craftsmanship.
“Khairul Idham successfully completed all tasks within the set time and to a high standard, defeating competitors from neighbouring countries,” he said.
Saarani added that this achievement proves the precision, discipline, and world-class skills of Malaysian youth.
“This success can serve as an inspiration to other young people in Perak to bravely pursue the TVET field, which is now a key driver of national development.
“May Perak continue to produce more skilled young talent in line with the Perak Sejahtera 2030 vision,” he said.
