IPOH: Around 700 participants are expected to attend the upcoming 2.0 Seminar: “Why i-ESG (Inclusive Environmental, Social & Governance) & Industrial Transformation 5.0?” scheduled for October 16 at the Meru Suites Conference Centre Hotel.

This seminar is an initiative of the Jelapang State Assembly Service Centre, co-organised with the Kinta SME Sustainability Association (KPKS) and the Kinta Department of Information (JAPEN).

The event is also supported by the Kinta Industrial Owners Association of Perak, the Perak Furniture Manufacturers and Dealers Association, SME Perak, and the Perak Blacksmith Association.

The programme aims to empower Industry 5.0 and sustainable development through the creation of a Government Consultation Zone, designed to assist Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in accessing funding schemes and the latest policy updates.

Jelapang State Assemblyman, Cheah Pou Hian, stated that the seminar targets 700 attendees, including SME representatives, trade association members, and interested members of the public.

A key highlight of the seminar is the “Business Clinic Corner”, which will feature major government agencies hosting information counters to help SMEs better understand government assistance programmes, application procedures, and eligibility requirements.

“This seminar aims to raise awareness among SMEs about emerging technologies, i-ESG standards, and government support programmes, while helping businesses remain competitive in the green and digital transformation era.

“Each agency will provide one-on-one consultations, addressing inquiries about matching grants, support for i-ESG transformation, automation and digitalisation grants, green technology tax incentives, and industrial technology upgrade policies.

“This not only allows SMEs to engage directly with key decision-makers but also offers a practical pathway for businesses to leverage government resources in 2025 toward digital and sustainable growth,” he said.

The seminar will be officiated by the Chief Minister of Perak, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad, with China’s Consul General in Penang, Zhou Youbin, attending as a guest of honour.

Participating agencies in the Business Clinic Corner include MATRADE, MIDA, and the Perak Department of Agriculture.

Also invited is Mohamed Zamri Mohd Zain, Director of the Perak Town and Country Planning Department (PLANMalaysia), who will deliver an in-depth briefing on the Community Special Action Plan (PTKK) and its role in advancing the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Agenda.

During the seminar, three international Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed, including strategic collaborations with companies from Hong Kong, Singapore, and local enterprises and associations.

Interested business owners and members of the public can register by contacting the Jelapang Community Service Centre at 010-392 2683 during office hours.
