Rumah Ibu Offers Affordable Homes for RPT Landowners in Perak

By: Zaki Salleh

IPOH — Landowners across Perak now have the opportunity to build affordable homes and increase the value of their property through the Rumah Ibu Scheme.

The initiative offers eight housing models priced between RM98,000 and RM238,000 per unit.

Founder and President of Rumah Ibu Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Sr Dr Kamarul Rashdan Salleh, said the company is ready to construct entry-level homes priced at RM98,000. The unit, spanning 540 square feet, comes with two bedrooms and one bathroom.

He said the pricing of all Rumah Ibu models reflects the company’s commitment as a social enterprise aimed at improving people’s quality of life through affordable housing.

“Since its launch in February 2024, a total of 244 landowners have registered under the Rumah Ibu Scheme, and demand continues to grow.

“It is not limited to a particular race but has attracted interest from Malaysians of all backgrounds.

“Currently, the most popular options are the RM138,000 model at 750 square feet with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and the RM141,000 model at 755 square feet with four bedrooms and two bathrooms,” he said after officiating the launch of the Perak-level RPT Renewal Initiative.

In addition, Rumah Ibu also offers premium designs priced between RM148,000 and RM238,000, with built-up areas ranging from 900 to 1,252 square feet, featuring three to four bedrooms.

Kamarul Rashdan said the scheme targets landowners in 66 Rancangan Penempatan Tersusun (RPT) areas across the state.

“Joining the Rumah Ibu Scheme provides landowners with a clear advantage, as land development is streamlined in collaboration with the state government.

“Participants also receive assistance with financing, local authority approvals and land ownership issues,” he said.

Depending on the model, construction takes between four to six months, subject to weather, location and local authority approvals.

All Rumah Ibu units will be built using the Industrialised Building System (IBS) technology.
