ConnecticaZEN Offers Safety Solutions for Seniors On Their Own

by KT Leong

ConnecticaZEN held the soft launch of its Smart Elder-Care Solutions on 9 September at Young Man’s Christian Association (YMCA) of Ipoh. The launch was to inform the public about the solutions they’re offering to deal with the problem of getting help for the elderly when they’re alone and in trouble.

According to ConnecticaZen, as of 2024, 14.9% of Perak’s population are aged 60 and above. 28% to 35% of people aged 65 and above experience a fall each year. This increases to 32% to 42% among those aged over 70. With Ipoh being a popular destination to settle down for one’s golden years, the issue that arises is that senior citizens are either living alone or can’t be monitored on a 24/7 basis.

So ConnecticaZen is offering services to give peace of mind in case a problem occurs while the seniors are alone, either due to living alone or their caregivers being away on errands. Two products were highlighted during this launch.

One was a radar detection system that is smart enough to tell when someone has fallen down. And another is the ResQfone, a device that the senior should wear on their persons; that can allow them to call for help at the press of a button, communicate with their contact list without the need to fiddle with a phone and also has fall detection as well as other features.

Both systems will not only set off an alarm for help if there’s trouble, but will automatically contact the contact list, with information such as the location of the victim using GPS. The contact list would also include ConnecticaZen’s 24/7 call centre support, in case the victim’s family or caregiver are not available.

Emergency ambulance services are also available through a partnership with MK Ambulance, including ambulance motorcycles for faster first responder action.

There is currently an early bird offer whereby the first 99 users can enjoy a free 1-month trial, plus an early-bird discount of over 40%.

In addition, there will be a free community workshop with the title of “Smarter Guardian: Keeping Seniors Safe at Home & Outside”, on 5 October at 3.00 pm at the R&R Sky Lounge at YMCA Ipoh.
