IPOH: Perak will be publishing a brochure titled ‘Perak Pages’ as part of efforts to boost the state’s tourism sector and attract more domestic and international tourists in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
According to the relevant State Executive Councillor, Loh Sze Yee, the brochure will feature a collection of tourism packages and a comprehensive directory of accommodation premises throughout the state of Perak.
“This publication aims to provide a complete guide for tourists, making it easier for them to plan their travel itinerary and choose accommodations in a more convenient and organized manner,” he said.
He made the statement while responding to an oral question at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) session here.
Among other efforts, he added, are expanding the involvement of various industry players, including local tour guides and geoguides.
In addition, Perak also plans to revive several iconic tourism packages.
These include Jejak Masjid Negeri Perak (Perak State Mosque Trail), War Trail, and Bikers Trails — offerings that not only expand options for tourists but also highlight exclusive experiences that can only be enjoyed in the state.
“The State Government has established strategic partnerships with major airlines such as AirAsia, Firefly, and Scoot to offer more attractive travel packages to Perak.
“Furthermore, ongoing collaborations with Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) such as Agoda, Booking.com, and Traveloka further strengthen Perak’s digital promotion, thus expanding reach to regional and international tourism markets,” he added.
He went on to say that although Perak was named Malaysia’s most popular domestic tourism destination in 2024 with 10.2 million visitors, the state government remains committed to maintaining this outstanding achievement.
“International programs such as the Lenggong Outdoor Festival, Rimba Raid, Kampar River Fest, Taiping Bird Week, Malaysia Ultra Trail, and Fiesta Ikan Loma have significantly contributed to the increase in tourist arrivals,” he said.
