The Bahá’í Community of Ipoh will host a World Peace Day programme on 21 September at Green Acres, Meru, Ipoh, in observance of the United Nations International Day of Peace. The event is expected to start at 4.00 pm and end by 6.30 pm, with refreshments provided.
The venue will be GreenAcres Retirement Village, located at Jalan Meru Emas 2, Taman Meru Emas, 30020 Ipoh.
The event is expected to be attended by about 100 participants from various backgrounds.
Established by the UN in 1981 and reinforced in 2001 as a day of ceasefire and non-violence, Peace Day unites people worldwide in reflection and action.
This year’s theme, “Act Now for a Peaceful World,” calls on humanity to move beyond conflict and division and build a just and cooperative future.
The Ipoh event will include a presentation on the “The Promise of World Peace”.
The keynote message of peace, which will be from the Bahá’í Peace Statement “The Promise of World Peace”, will stress that peace is not only the absence of war but the presence of justice, compassion, and truth.
The event is open to the public by invitation. Contact the Organizing Secretary, Mr. Pandian Thangapandy, for more information at 012-7101844.
