IPOH: The open Telekom Malaysia (TM) manhole near SK MGS, Jalan Chamberlain Hulu, has been closed.
This action was taken after a report on the issue was published by Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic.
According to the complainant, the manhole was closed on Friday at around 7:45 p.m., approximately five hours after the news was released.
“TM’s appointed contractor also carried out maintenance work on the manhole in front of SK MGS on Saturday around 5:15 p.m.
“I happened to be passing by Jalan Chamberlain Hulu at the time and saw it myself. Thank you for frequently reporting public issues, which in turn draw the attention of the relevant authorities,” the complainant said.
Previously, Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic reported that open manholes in various parts of Ipoh city should be urgently monitored to prevent unwanted accidents.
This is because many of the manhole covers were partially open, posing a danger to road users in the area.
