The Rotary Club of Ipoh Central’s inaugural STEM Exploration Bootcamp & Digital Literacy Technology Camp ignited curiosity and innovation at the Imperial International School of Ipoh on September 27, 2025. Themed “Learn | Build | Innovate,” the one-day event drew 103 students from 33 SJKT schools across Perak, showcasing strong enthusiasm for hands-on STEM learning among Tamil-medium students.

Organized by the club, led by President Dr. Nageenthren Ragunathan and powered by MyFlowLab Education, the camp was supported by the Perak State Government, YB Sivanesan Achalingam (Perak’s EXCO for Human Resources, Health, Indian Community Affairs, and National Integration), Universiti Teknologi Petronas, and Spark Capital Development Berhad.
Guided by the motto “On: Hands-On Fundamentals,” the program transformed complex STEM concepts into engaging, interactive experiences, fostering students’ problem-solving skills and passion for discovery.

The event’s impressive turnout reflected the diversity of Perak’s rural and urban Tamil communities, with participants eagerly exploring STEM and developing foundational digital literacy skills. Their enthusiasm underscored the club’s commitment to empowering the next generation through education.
Dr. Ragunathan, the club’s president, shared his gratitude: “On behalf of the Rotary Club, I extend my deepest thanks to every Rotarian, partner, volunteer, and supporter who made this event a success. Your efforts have planted seeds of innovation in the hearts and minds of 103 young trailblazers, paving the way for a brighter future.”

This pioneering bootcamp marks a significant step in promoting STEM education and digital literacy among Perak’s youth, laying a strong foundation for the club’s future initiatives.
