Repeated Complaints Over Illegal Waste Dumping at Jalan Rapat Jaya

By Zaki Salleh

IPOH: The issue of illegal waste dumping at Jalan Rapat Jaya has once again caught the attention of local residents as piles of rubbish continue to be discarded at the same location.

Items dumped include mattresses, broken sofas, polystyrene containers, and domestic waste, all reportedly discarded repeatedly in the same spot.

According to complaints received, this is not the first time such incidents have occurred.

Each time a complaint is lodged, the local authorities clean up the area — but not long after, the rubbish piles up again.

Residents believe the act is carried out by irresponsible individuals who deliberately dispose of waste in the area without regard for the law or environmental cleanliness.

“Such actions not only create an eyesore but also reflect the immoral attitude of certain members of the community,” said a resident, Ahmad Shuhandri Ahmad Rais.

The situation has sparked frustration as it not only tarnishes the image of the area, but also hinders the efforts of authorities to realize their vision of making Ipoh a clean and beautiful city.

Authorities are urged to take stricter action, including continuous monitoring, the installation of closed-circuit cameras (CCTV), and the enforcement of fines on offenders, to prevent this problem from recurring.
