Three Men Arrested Over Viral Cable Theft Video in Pasir Puteh

IPOH: Police are investigating a viral video circulating on social media that shows a cable theft incident in the Pasir Puteh area of Ipoh.

The video, shared via the link https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1ftSqeairp/, depicts individuals believed to be involved in the criminal activity.

According to Ipoh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, police received a report from Telekom Malaysia regarding the loss of approximately 30 meters of cable along Jalan Batik 6, Pasir Kuning, Pasir Puteh.

“Preliminary investigations identified a Proton Iswara vehicle believed to have been used in the incident, which was reportedly rented by the suspects,” he said in a statement.

Acting on gathered intelligence, a team from the Ipoh District Police Headquarters (IPD) and Perak Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) arrested three local men aged between 24 and 40 at separate locations around Ipoh and Chemor.

Background checks revealed that all three suspects have prior criminal records, including offences related to drugs.
