Van Driver Detained After Crashing Into Six Cars at Ipoh KTM Station

IPOH: Police have detained a local man involved in a viral accident that caused damage to six vehicles in the parking area of the Ipoh Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) Station last Sunday.

Ipoh District Police Chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said initial investigations found that the van driver lost control of his vehicle while turning into a junction.

As a result, the man crashed into several parked vehicles in the area.

“Based on information from the public, police managed to locate and detain the local man who was driving the van.

“No injuries were reported in the incident.

“Urine tests conducted on the driver came back negative, and the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and dangerous driving,” he said on Tuesday.

He also expressed appreciation for the information and cooperation provided by the public in assisting with the investigation.

Previously, the incident went viral on social media after several vehicles were seen badly damaged at the Ipoh KTM Station early Sunday morning, sparking questions about the cause of the crash.
