TELUK INTAN: Four main locations in the Hilir Perak and Bagan Datuk districts were the focus of the 2025 Malaysia Clean-Up Day district-level program, which was successfully carried out.

The selected locations were Taman Melor, Taman Desa Maju Perak Langkap, Taman Desa Bernam Hutan Melintang, and Taman Teluk Intan.

More than 200 volunteers, together with local community members, took part in cleaning activities across these areas.

In a statement, the Teluk Intan Municipal Council (MPTI) explained that Malaysia Clean-Up Day is not just about collecting trash or cleaning up spaces, but conveys a much deeper message.

The core message is that cleanliness is a way of life that should be nurtured by all levels of society.

“Cleanliness is not solely the responsibility of local authorities, but a shared duty for the sake of a healthy and prosperous environment.

“This program is part of a nationwide initiative held simultaneously across the country, aimed at promoting a culture of cleanliness and sustainability among Malaysians,” the statement said.

The official launch of the program at Taman Teluk Intan was officiated by the President of MPTI, Zairul Akmal Kasim.

The program also received strong support from various parties, including NGOs, Neighbourhood Watch groups, students from SMJKC San Min Jalan Merbok, and the local community.
