Lumut Prepares to Host 11th International Poetry and Folk Song Festival

LUMUT: The International Poetry and Folk Song Festival (PULARA) returns to brighten the national arts and culture calendar with its 11th edition, set to take place in Lumut.

This prestigious event, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, is scheduled to be held from October 23 to 25, 2025, featuring a variety of engaging programs tailored for family entertainment.

This year, PULARA 11 has chosen Lumut as its main venue, strengthening its role as an international platform that brings together poets, artists, and cultural enthusiasts from both local and international communities.

Among the highlights expected to capture visitors’ interest are multilingual poetry performances, folk song presentations, literary workshops, and cultural exhibitions showcasing the rich artistic heritage of the Malay Archipelago.

Residents of Lumut and visitors from across the state and country are invited to attend and enliven the 11th PULARA Festival.

Bring the whole family to enjoy the beauty of poetry, folk rhythms, and the spirit of unity woven through arts and culture!

Meanwhile, the Manjung Municipal Council has announced the full closure of Jalan Sultan Yussuff Izuddin in Lumut to traffic from 12:01 a.m. on October 21 until 11:59 p.m. on October 26, 2025, to ensure the smooth running of the event.

The public is advised to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternative routes during this closure period.

The organizers apologize for any inconvenience caused and call on the local community to fully cooperate to ensure the success of this internationally recognized festival.
