World Stroke Day celebration at Dataran MBI

For the third year running, the Neurology unit, Department of Medicine, Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, are organising the World Stroke Day celebration, which will be held on 26 October at Dataran MBI from 7 am to 11 am. The aim of the programme is to raise awareness of stroke.

According to The World Stroke Organization’s statistics, 1 in 4 people will have a stroke in their lifetime. But the good news is that up to 90% of strokes are preventable by addressing modifiable risk factors.

So come and join the event to learn about stroke prevention and its rehabilitation. Get free medical check-ups. There will also be pharmacists to provide tips for medication woes as well.

The event also coincides with the Ipoh City Half Marathon and Ipoh Low Carbon Day, emphasizing the importance of exercise and living in a healthy environment for stroke prevention.
