IPOH: A total of 180 people from 44 families in two districts have been placed in temporary evacuation centres (PPS) following floods caused by continuous heavy rain today.
According to a statement from the District Disaster Management Committee, the two affected districts are Larut Matang and Selama (LMS) and Manjung.

It said one PPS was opened in LMS and two in Manjung, accommodating 44 families and 180 victims in total.
“A PPS has been opened at Dewan Orang Ramai Simpang Halt, Taiping, and the evacuation of victims and families is still ongoing.
“Another PPS has been opened at SK Pantai Remis, also still in the process of transferring victims, while the third is at Padang Serai, Pengkalan Baru,” said the statement here tonight.

The number of victims and evacuation centres is expected to increase due to the continuous rain since this morning.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has forecast thunderstorms and heavy rain in several states, including Perak.
