IPOH: Perak contingent showcased their talents by participating in three main categories at the Festival Anak Seni MAKSAK (FASIM) 2025, held at the Tun Azizan Zainul Abidin Auditorium, Putrajaya Corporation Complex, Precinct 3, from October 17 to 19.
The festival, organised by the Malaysian Civil Servants’ Welfare and Sports Council (MAKSAK), brought together participants from across the country, including state-level MAKSAK representatives, as well as sports councils from the Royal Malaysia Police, Malaysian Armed Forces, and Malaysian Prisons Department.

In a statement, the Perak State Secretary’s Office said the state participated in three main events: Bintang Asli MAKSAK (Traditional Singing), Creative Folk Dance, and Battle of the Bands.
“For the Creative Folk Dance category, the Selendang Perak group presented a performance titled Langkah Si Miskin (The Steps of the Poor).
“In the Bintang Asli MAKSAK category, two Perak representatives showcased their vocal talents through performances of traditional Malay songs and Langgam,” the statement said.

It also mentioned that a musical group from Perak competed in the Battle of the Bands segment.
“They performed three songs – including one mandatory song Pop Yeh Yeh, one freestyle selection, and one instrumental piece,” it added.
In addition to the main competitions, various side programs were held to enliven the festival.
“These included the Jualan Rahmah Madani (affordable community sale) on October 17 and 18 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Free Health Screenings on October 17 starting at 8:30 a.m. in the auditorium lobby,” the statement said.

The festival was open to the public.
The Festival Anak Seni MAKSAK not only celebrates the arts and culture as a medium of unity, but also serves as a platform to discover and nurture creative talents among civil servants nationwide.
