Earthya Garbage Bag from Perak; Biodegradable and Soil-Enriching

IPOH: The Earthya compost bag is a high-quality garbage bag made from calcium carbonate sourced in Perak, designed to be durable and tear-resistant.
This innovation was developed by the Zantat Poly+Cal Innovation Lab, a Research and Development (R&D) laboratory located in the Keramat Pulai industrial area.
Among the advantages of this garbage bag is that it can decompose naturally and transform into organic material that enriches the soil.
According to the Perak Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, this innovation contributes to the development of a low-carbon economy.
It also supports the state’s green economy aspirations while creating job opportunities and empowering local youth.
“I have launched the Zantat Poly+Cal Innovation Lab for Research and Development (R&D).
“The launch of this R&D lab marks another significant step in strengthening Perak’s mineral industry ecosystem.
“This lab serves as a high-tech research center aimed at producing new, eco-friendly innovations based on calcium carbonate through collaboration between academia and industry,” he said.
He added that the state government will continue to provide a conducive investment environment, speed up approval processes, and strengthen cooperation between agencies and the private sector to attract more high-value investments to Perak.
