IPOH: Three local authorities in Perak have achieved a notable milestone after receiving the Smart City Early Adopter Award for 2025.
The recognized local authorities are the Taiping Municipal Council (MPT), the Kerian District Council (MDK), and the Perak Tengah District Council (MDPT).
These three councils are among 27 local authorities nationwide that received the same recognition.
The award highlights the commitment of these councils in implementing the smart city agenda, in line with the Malaysia Smart City Framework 2019.
It also supports the goal of achieving sustainable, inclusive, and livable urban development.
This recognition serves as a catalyst for local councils in Perak to continue their efforts in transforming their districts into progressive, smart, and sustainable regions.
The award ceremony took place during the World Town Planning Day (HPBS) 2025 celebration in Putrajaya.
The event also featured the National Planning Congress (NPC) and MyCity Expo 2025, organized by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) through PLANMalaysia.
