IPOH: Perak Batik is distinguished by its unique kelumpang flower patterns, which are considered a valuable asset and a defining identity of the product.
These distinct kelumpang motifs elevate Perak Batik to stand alongside other states and countries, showcasing the state’s unique craftsmanship.

Efforts to promote Perak Batik are being spearheaded by the Perak Menteri Besar Incorporated (MB Inc.) through a courtesy visit to the Corporate Communications Centre at the University of Malaya (UM) in Kuala Lumpur.
In a statement, MB Inc. said this initiative is a strategic effort to strengthen collaboration in the Perak Batik industry.

The visit reflects MB Inc. Perak’s proactive commitment to exploring collaboration opportunities with the nation’s leading higher education institutions, particularly in promoting and expanding the potential of Perak Batik.
“Mr. Rizam Abd Rani, representing MB Inc. Perak’s management, met with UM Director Siti Salwa Md Padzil, accompanied by senior officials from both parties.
“Discussions covered various aspects of strategic collaboration that will add value to the local batik development ecosystem,” the statement said.
The collaboration between MB Inc. Perak and UM is expected to open new dimensions for the development of the Perak Batik industry, including research, innovation, capacity building, and more dynamic, competitive marketing strategies.
