The Salvation Army Ipoh has launched the Million Hearts Care Together campaign on 1 November, a heart-warming initiative that calls on Malaysians to come together in support of children’s education and empowerment. This campaign will run from 1 November to 30 November.
The campaign’s goal is simple yet powerful, to invite 10,000 individuals to each donate RM10, raising funds for an education fund benefiting 50 children from both the Ipoh Children’s Home and Ipoh Boys’ Home.

Launched in conjunction with International Children’s Day, the campaign celebrates the power of compassion and community, reminding Malaysians that when many hearts care together, even the smallest gifts can create life-changing impact.
“A ten-ringgit note may not seem like much but in the hands of a child, it represents opportunity and hope,” said Major Chelvee, Team Leader of The Salvation Army Ipoh. “We’ve seen firsthand how education can break the cycle of poverty and transform lives.”
Guest of Honour Datin Janet Yeoh praised the initiative for its vision of collective kindness, saying that “When we give a child the chance to learn, we are not just shaping one life, we are transforming families, communities and a nation. Every RM10 is a seed of hope.”
During her speech, Datin Janet Yeoh also announced a donation of RM2,000 from her charity group, presented via a mock cheque ceremony.

The campaign was officially launched as the guests of honour symbolically placed RM10 notes into the donation box, marking the start of the “Million Hearts Care Together” initiative.
The event also featured some inspiring stories from four former residents who joined The Salvation Army Ipoh Boys’ Home and Ipoh Children’s Home for their childhood. They have shared how the Home gave them stability, love, faith and a future.
“The Home has provided me with a conducive environment where I can focus on my education and build a strong foundation for my future. With their support, I managed to pass my SPM with Distinction, something I never thought would be possible before.” said Azlan, one of present resident in Ipoh Boys’ Home who is going to start his course Diploma in Computer Electronics in November.
“I wish to give back to my community and inspire other Orang Asli students to believe that they too can achieve great things through education.” Azlan shared how he can achieve his dream through education in his testimony.
Through stories like Azlan’s, the Million Hearts Care Together campaign aims to remind the public that small acts of generosity can make extraordinary differences in the lives of children in need.
