By Zaki Salleh

BATU GAJAH: The nation’s rail sector continues to be strengthened with the active development of a new generation of highly skilled workers.

This group represents the new industrial workforce essential to supporting the growth of a competitive national rail transportation system.

Most recently, 170 graduates completed their studies — comprising employees of Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) and participants of the Talent in Industry Academy (ADi) program organized by the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC).

All were celebrated at the 7th KTM Academy Convocation Ceremony, held at the KTM Academy in Batu Gajah.

The ceremony was officiated by Dato’ Seri Ir. Mohamad Nizar Jamaluddin, Perak State Executive Councillor for Infrastructure, Energy, Water, and Public Transport.

Also present was Ir. Ahmad Nizam Mohamed Amin, Chief Technical Officer (Acting Group Chief Executive Officer) of KTMB.

In his speech, Ir. Ahmad Nizam congratulated all graduates who successfully completed their studies and received the Malaysian Skills Diploma (TVET-I) and the Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM).

He reaffirmed KTMB’s commitment to strengthening human capital development in line with the aspirations of the National TVET Policy.

The ceremony also witnessed the exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between KTMB and several educational institutions — UiTM Shah Alam, ADTEC Ipoh, UKM, and PUO Ipoh — as part of efforts to enhance strategic collaboration in the field of TVET.
