KAMPAR: The Perak State Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM), in collaboration with various rescue agencies, has conducted the Kampar Disaster Exercise 2025.

This large-scale simulation involved a collapse incident at the famous tourist destination, Gua Tempurung.
The exercise aimed to test the level of coordination and preparedness of all rescue agencies in facing real disaster situations particularly in high-risk geological and tourist areas such as caves and limestone hills.
It involved more than 100 personnel from various agencies, including the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM), and the Kampar District Council.

The simulation provided an opportunity for all teams to coordinate communication strategies, logistics, and search and rescue (SAR) operations in challenging situations such as structural collapses and victims trapped in cave areas.
“This is important to ensure that every member understands their respective roles and can respond quickly and effectively when a real disaster occurs,” said a representative when met after the completion of the simulation exercise.
In addition to rescue operations, Kampar Disaster Exercise 2025 also focused on post-disaster management, including media control, victim family management, and coordination of the disaster operations center.
