PANGKOR: The initiative to establish Pangkor Island as a sustainable tourism destination is being implemented through an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Program at Pasir Bogak Beach and Pangkor Island Recreational Forest.

The program was organised by the Manjung Municipal Council (MPM) and involved 88 participants from the Asset Operation (AO) Unit of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) Selangor, led by Zone C1 Asset Chief, Ir. Mohd Rizal Ramlan.
Representatives from the Duty-Free Island Management Unit, Community and Social Development Department, and Pangkor Island Landscape Unit also took part.

Key activities included the planting of 50 merambong saplings at Pasir Bogak Beach and 30 beruas saplings in the Teluk Nipah Waterfall area.
Signage for Smoke-Free Zones was also installed at both locations to raise public awareness of the importance of environmental conservation.

The program aims to provide exposure on the importance of preserving and protecting the environment.
This initiative also emphasises biodiversity as a core element for sustainable company operations and the well-being of the local community.
