SK Marian Convent First in Perak Cohort to Earn Green Flag Award

IPOH: Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Marian Convent, Ipoh has made its own mark in history when it was announced as the first school in Cohort 2 of the Perak Eco-Schools Programme.

The school succeeded in obtaining the Green Flag Award, the highest recognition under the environmental sustainability education programme.

In a statement, Menteri Besar Incorporated (MB Inc.) Perak extended its congratulations to the school for this outstanding achievement.

The recognition was awarded after SK Marian Convent underwent a comprehensive audit process involving the implementation of the seven key steps of the Eco-Schools Programme.

During the evaluation session, the school also presented various projects based on environmental preservation and conservation to the panel of auditors.

These creative ideas successfully enhanced holistic awareness of sustainability among administrators, teachers, and students.

As a strategic partner of the Perak Eco-Schools Programme, MB Inc. Perak reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to strengthening a sustainability-based education ecosystem through the implementation of Green Flag audits under the Eco-Schools Malaysia framework.

The success of SK Marian Convent is hoped to inspire enthusiasm among the 30 other schools in Cohort 2, as well as all educational institutions in the state of Perak.

This is to continue elevating the sustainability and sustainable development agenda to a higher level.
