IPOH: Lenggong Geopark received two awards at the Green & Geopark Excellence Awards (GAGA) 2025 held at the Langkawi International Convention Centre (LICC), Kuah, Langkawi.

The event, organised by the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), was held to recognise outstanding geopark sites that have made significant contributions to sustainable tourism, geopark conservation, and local community development.

At the ceremony, the Lenggong Geopark Management Body was presented with the Outstanding Geopark Management Award and the Best Geopark Community Engagement Award.

The achievement is the result of continuous collaboration between state and federal departments and agencies since Lenggong was designated as a National Geopark on 16 December 2021 and subsequently meeting the UNESCO Global Geopark evaluation in 2025.

The awards were presented by Minister of Housing and Local Government, Nga Kor Ming, to the Deputy District Officer of Lenggong, representing the Lenggong Geopark Management Body, Mohd Noor Azam Ismail.

A total of 19 categories were contested, making the awards a benchmark of excellence and a source of inspiration for all geoparks among ASEAN countries.
