IPOH: The Perak State Disaster Control and Operations Centre (SDCC) has been fully activated following continuous rainfall and increasing flood risks.
The Perak SDCC functions as the state’s main disaster operations coordination centre, operating under the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) and coordinated through the State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN).

In a statement, the State Secretary’s Office (SUK) said that the full activation of the SDCC enables more organised and effective coordination among all agencies involved.
“This coordination encompasses situation monitoring, information management, and immediate response actions to ensure the safety of the people is always safeguarded,” it said.
It added that SDCC serves as the central hub for coordinating all reports related to flood incidents from districts and involved agencies.

“SDCC’s role includes collecting, verifying, and channeling official information to state authorities for further action.
“It is also responsible for activating and managing the District Disaster Operations Control Centre (PKOB) when necessary, as well as supporting rescue agencies through the delivery of accurate and up-to-date information,” said the statement.

Additionally, the SDCC ensures smooth communication among all safety, technical, and welfare agencies to streamline on-ground operations.
The public, especially those facing flood situations, with emergency information, or in need of assistance, may contact the Perak SDCC at 05-209 5013 for immediate action.
“The state government also advises the public to remain vigilant, follow current weather updates, and comply with directives issued by the authorities throughout this monsoon season,” it said.
