IPOH: Nine people were rescued after being trapped in an elevator that got stuck on Jalan Sultan Idris here last night.
According to a spokesperson from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Department, the incident occurred at 12:56 a.m.
The emergency call was made by a member of the public who happened to be passing by and heard cries for help.
“Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters found nine people trapped inside the elevator.
“They had been trapped for approximately 40 minutes and were safely freed by firefighters using special equipment. No injuries were reported,” the spokesperson said.
