PENGKALAN HULU: In addition to airports, railway stations, and seaports, Perak has another international entry point, namely the ICQS Bukit Berapit Complex in Pengkalan Hulu.
This is one of the main land entry points in the state of Perak, bordering Betong, Thailand.
Perhaps due to its distance from Ipoh, many parties have tended to overlook this international gateway.

However, the ICQS Bukit Berapit Complex was by no means sidelined when a simple yet meaningful ceremony was held in conjunction with the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 Campaign to welcome arriving visitors.
The welcoming event at the Betong–Pengkalan Hulu entry point was officiated by the Assistant District Officer, Pengkalan Hulu District and Land Office, Norhisyam Karno.

Also present were the President of the Pengkalan Hulu District Council, Meor Shahibul Fadilah Zainuddin, representatives from Tourism Malaysia and Tourism Perak, as well as the Betong Mukim Head.
The celebration was enlivened with the distribution of souvenirs and Visit Malaysia 2026 vehicle stickers to visitors.
This served as a symbol of welcome and marked the beginning of the national tourism campaign for 2026.
The initiative reflects the continued commitment of all parties to ensuring a friendly and meaningful arrival experience for visitors.
