Issue of clogged drains and foul odour around Pantai Hospital and LHDN resolved

By Aida Aziz

IPOH: The problem of clogged drains emitting a foul smell and disrupting water flow around the Pantai Hospital Ipoh area and the Inland Revenue Board (Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri, LHDN) building has been successfully resolved.

Ipoh City Council (MBI) Chief Whip, Datuk Mazlan Abd Rahman, said that he had previously conducted a surprise visit following complaints lodged by the LHDN management regarding the issue.

He said that apart from the drainage problem, the need to construct or improve road dividers was also raised to prevent hazards and to facilitate movement and ensure public safety in the area.

“The drain cleaning works in the area between Pantai Hospital Ipoh and the LHDN building have been successfully completed.

“The drains, which were previously clogged and emitting a foul smell, have been thoroughly cleaned and water flow has returned to normal, thereby reducing the risk of flash floods and environmental pollution.

“I would like to express my highest appreciation and thanks to Puncak Emas for their swift action and strong commitment in carrying out these cleaning works for the comfort and safety of all,” he said.

He added that complaints received would continue to be monitored and appropriate action would be taken.
