IPOH: A total of 50 Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) personnel from the Perak contingent took part in a Frontliners Emergency Training programme organised by Quill Ipoh Orthopaedic Hospital here.

The training involved members from the Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) Unit, Motorcycle Patrol Unit (URB), Crime Prevention Patrol (RCJ) and the Traffic Unit.

The programme focused on enhancing skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, triage, victim evacuation and proper emergency procedures.

Deputy Director of the Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department (JPJKK), Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid, said the training was crucial as PDRM personnel are often the first responders at accident and disaster scenes.

He said the knowledge gained would help improve response effectiveness while reducing the risk of injuries and fatalities.

“This training also aims to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the police, hospitals, ambulance services and other rescue teams.

“The emergency knowledge acquired by participants is highly useful and can be applied during incidents or accidents while on duty.

“This collaboration can boost the confidence and professionalism of personnel when dealing with high-pressure situations,” he said when officiating the programme’s closing ceremony.

Also present were Perak JPJKK chief SAC Roslan Yusof @ Mohamad, Medical Director of Quill Ipoh Orthopaedic Hospital Loh Choong Sing, and the hospital’s general manager Crystal Lee.
