LUMUT: A total of 100 recipients benefited from the Free Eye Screening and Free Glasses Contribution Programme, organised through a collaboration between Aezlyn Optical and the Pangkor State Assembly Service Centre.
The programme, which ran from early morning until evening, was officiated by Pangkor assemblywoman Norhaslinda Zakaria.

She said the initiative was a noble effort aimed at assisting those in need by providing free vision screenings as well as glasses tailored to their respective requirements.
“Alhamdulillah, the response has been very encouraging. Most of those who attended expressed gratitude for the opportunity to undergo eye examinations and receive glasses that greatly assist their daily lives,” she said.
She was also present at the programme venue to ensure that all arrangements proceeded smoothly and to engage directly with the beneficiaries.

The programme was seen to have a positive impact, particularly among senior citizens, low-income groups and individuals who previously lacked the opportunity to undergo regular eye examinations.
“May this small effort bring new light and clarity to their lives, while improving the quality of life of the local community,” she added.
The programme reflects the Pangkor State Assembly Service Centre’s continued commitment to strengthening public welfare through strategic collaboration with private sector partners and the local community.
Members of the public who attended also expressed their appreciation to all parties involved in making the programme a success, expressing hope that similar initiatives would continue in the future.
