IPOH: Flash floods hit several areas in Buntong and across the city today following heavy, continuous rainfall since morning.

Buntong State Assemblyman (ADUN) Thulsi Manogaran said water levels reportedly rose to chest height on several roads around Kampung Baru Buntong, disrupting residents’ movements.

He added that his team, together with emergency responders, went to the affected areas to assist residents and monitor the situation.

“I was at the affected areas with my team to help residents and check the water pumps, most of which were found to be functioning well,” he said.

He also said that the elderly were prioritised for relocation to safer locations to prevent any untoward incidents.

“They have been moved to safe homes, and food has been provided to those affected,” he said.

Meanwhile, he expressed appreciation to all agencies involved for their swift action and continued cooperation in handling the situation.
