IPOH : Engaging in art can be a meaningful form of mental therapy.
The Taman Meru 2B Community Hall recently brought together senior citizens for a relaxed and meaningful art activity through the Brush & Bliss: Senior Watercolour Painting programme.

The programme provided participants with the opportunity to learn basic watercolour painting techniques.
Carrying the theme “Flora and Fauna”, the art class was guided by experienced facilitator Nash from Signature Art Gallery.
Throughout the session, participants were introduced to fundamental techniques such as brush control, colour mixing and simple composition before producing their own artworks.

The lively and interactive atmosphere reflected the participants’ enthusiasm as they expressed their creativity, with some choosing to paint brightly coloured flowers while others featured fauna elements symbolising peace and freedom.
Besides the practical session, participants’ artworks were evaluated by the facilitator before the programme concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to all participants.
Earlier, the programme was officiated by Yayasan Bina Upaya board member Aminuddin Md Hanafiah.
In his speech, he expressed appreciation for efforts to empower senior citizens through creative and inclusive approaches.
The programme not only provided seniors with a meaningful way to spend their time but also helped boost self-confidence, stimulate creative thinking and encourage more active social interaction within the community.
