IPOH:  Nine students in the Buntong state constituency (DUN) area who were affected by recent floods have returned to school after receiving complete sets of schooling essentials.

The students had been unable to attend classes for a week after their uniforms, school bags and shoes were damaged by floodwaters.

Concerned over their plight, several individuals stepped forward to ensure the affected students would not fall behind in their studies.

Each of the nine students received a full set of school uniforms, new bags and shoes.

Among the main contributors were Surain Kanaparan, an alumnus of Politeknik Ungku Omar, and P. Uvarajan, chairman of the Child Protection Committee under the Social Welfare Department.

Surain’s friends also assisted in making the welfare mission a success by contributing financially and providing logistical support.

The initiative, driven by a spirit of togetherness, was described as an important step in safeguarding the welfare and education of children affected by the disaster.

It is hoped that the assistance will not only ease the burden on their families but also inspire the students to continue pursuing their education and build a brighter future.
