IPOH, March 8 — Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds that hit several areas around Ipoh recently caused a large tree to topple and crush three vehicles.
The frightening incident, which occurred in Taman Bersatu, Simpang Pulai, resulted in no injuries to those involved.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia, Perak, said six people survived the incident.
“The fallen tree incident involved two trees that crushed three vehicles — a Proton Saga, a Proton Persona and a Volkswagen. The victims were safely rescued by members of the public.
“Four women in their 20s were travelling in the Proton Persona, while one man was in the Proton Saga and another man was in the Volkswagen.
“The victims were trapped inside their respective vehicles and were unable to get out due to branches and tree limbs blocking the exit,” he said.
