PANGKOR: Taking a boat to Pulau Pangkor to meet the local community has become routine for Norhaslinda Zakaria, the State Assemblywoman (ADUN) for Pangkor.

This Ramadan was no exception, as the boat served as her main link to the island. Yesterday, she continued the Ziarah Kasih Prihatin programme by delivering food aid boxes to 20 families on Pulau Pangkor.

The contribution comes in preparation for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

According to Norhaslinda, the initiative aims to ease the burden of underprivileged families in preparing for Syawal. She hopes the donations will bring some relief and brighten the Aidilfitri celebrations for the families involved.

“The programme was carried out in collaboration with the Pangkor ADUN Service Centre team, with support from friends in the Pangkor Pink Van Taxi Association, who remain committed to helping the local community.

“Although small, efforts like this are expected to bring happiness and benefit to those in need,” she said.

She also expressed her gratitude to donors, including friends from the Jutawan Pahala initiative, whose contributions helped make the programme a success.

The visit was further enlivened with a breaking-of-fast ceremony with one of the team members, strengthening bonds among the volunteers involved.

Norhaslinda reaffirmed her commitment to continue assisting those in need and to strengthen welfare efforts in the Pangkor constituency over time.
