MANJUNG: Landscape tree management remains a priority for the Manjung Municipal Council (MPM) in ensuring public safety as well as the sustainability of the urban environment.
Urban trees not only enhance the aesthetic value of an area, but also function as natural shade, reduce temperatures and contribute to the well-being of the community.

The Manjung Municipal Council (MPM) said that, through its Landscape Unit, it has introduced the Risk Tree Management Guidelines as an official reference.
The guidelines help identify, assess and manage trees that may pose potential risks in public areas.

Throughout 2025, a total of 325 landscape-related complaints were received, with the majority involving tree safety issues.
Of the total, 137 cases involved pruning works, while another 117 cases involved the felling of high-risk trees.
All actions were carried out following technical assessments to ensure a balance between safety and landscape preservation.

MPM also recorded an excellent performance, with 96.31 per cent of complaints successfully resolved.
An average complaint resolution period of around six days reflects MPM’s strong commitment in addressing urban tree issues swiftly and effectively.
