IPOH: Police have launched an investigation into a viral social media video believed to show a cable theft incident at the Silibin Business Centre here.
The footage, uploaded to the platform X by the account “Update11111” at around 1 pm, appears to show suspicious activity near the Watsons outlet in the area.
Ipoh District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Najib Hamzah said efforts are underway to identify the individuals involved and verify the exact time and location of the incident.
“The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft,” he said in a statement.
Members of the public with information on the incident are urged to come forward and assist with the investigation by contacting the nearest police station.
Police also reminded the public not to speculate on the matter, as it may disrupt the investigation.
