IPOH: The Greentown Food Court, which underwent previous upgrading works, was fully completed in January.

According to Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) Minister Nga Kor Ming, RM200,000 was allocated for the upgrade, benefiting around 25 stall operators and local visitors.

He said the project, which began in August last year, involved repainting the food court area, installing industrial “heli fans,” and replacing tables and chairs to enhance user comfort.

“KPKT remains committed to strengthening public facilities and improving community well-being through infrastructure upgrading projects at Medan Selera Greentown Utama.

“The ministry has allocated RM60 million for 200 food court upgrading projects nationwide, expected to be fully completed by the end of this year,” he said after officiating the food court on Sunday.

He added that KPKT is committed to ensuring public amenities provided are not only functional, but also comfortable, safe, and offer added value to the local community.

The upgrade, he said, is not just a physical improvement but also an effort to support the economic growth of small traders and uplift the people’s quality of life.

Meanwhile, KPKT also organised a Community Engagement Programme for the Kepayang state constituency, benefiting between 800 and 1,000 residents of the surrounding flats.

The programme served as a platform to engage the community directly, deliver assistance, and strengthen relations between the government and the people.
