IPOH: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Raja Permaisuri Bainun has received a new 40-seater bus for use in official school matters and student activities.
The handover was officiated by Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh in a special ceremony held at the school.
Also present were Perak Education Director Zulkafli Mohamed Mokhtar and SMK Raja Permaisuri Bainun Principal Datin Khalilah Za’aba.

According to Wong, the new bus is part of the Education Ministry’s efforts to ensure school facilities remain in good condition and meet current needs.
He said the school previously had to rely on an ageing bus that had been in service for more than 30 years, highlighting the urgent need for replacement.
“The provision of this new bus is expected to improve comfort and safety for students, especially when participating in off-site activities or official school programmes,” he said.
During the event, Wong also announced an allocation of RM50,000 to upgrade the school surau, following a request from the administration.
The school welcomed the initiative, noting that it will bring significant benefits to the school community, particularly in enhancing student welfare and available facilities.
The handover also reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to improving educational infrastructure for the well-being of students and the wider school community.
