IPOH — Perseverance and passion can lead anyone to success.
This is true for Poomathi Tamilselvam, recently honoured for her achievements as an event host.
Her latest recognition was presented at an event organised by artist R.P.S Kalaimani in Sungai Petani, Kedah, last week.

The event also received support from the Kedah Astro Vaanavil Fan Club.
With over 30 years of experience as a master of ceremonies, Poomathi has shown that success is not solely dependent on formal education.
Despite only having a Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) qualification, she has built a reputable name in the hosting industry through continuous effort and commitment.
Apart from being an emcee, she is also a homemaker who has raised three daughters with dedication.
Her ability to balance family responsibilities and her career has become an inspiration to many women.

Originally from Ashby Road here, Poomathi is well known for her skill in conducting events in Tamil, delivering her presentations with engaging and effective flair.
Her strong command and stage presence have made her a preferred choice among non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and temple committees to host various programmes.
Throughout her career, she was also entrusted to host an event attended by former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in Ipoh.
Poomathi has also hosted programmes in New Delhi, India, and in several other countries.
These experiences stand among her significant achievements, further strengthening her reputation as a capable and respected emcee.
Poomathi said her deep passion for hosting and love for the arts have been the main driving forces behind her active involvement in the field.
She hopes her achievements will inspire other women not to give up in pursuing their dreams.
