Junior Chambers International (JCI) Malaysia launched their annual Creative Young Entrepreneur Award (CYEA) for 2026 this morning at Kilang’s Place, which is part of the Canning Dim Sum company. Hosting this prestigious national level award is JCI Kinta. The guest of honour witnessing this event was Yang Berusaha Encik Mohamad Roslan, the Director of the Perak State Entrepreneur Secretariat (STEP).
The CYEA was launched in 2005 by JCI International and adopted by JCI Malaysia in 2007. The award not only honours the success and innovation of young entrepreneurs, but through the selection process, it allows the nominees to examine their businesses in order to identify their strengths and discover their weaknesses. It also allows the participants to build networks and learn new skills through the workshops that will be organised by JCI Ipoh.
The CYEA will look at various factors in deciding the winner of the award, such as the creativity to survive in today’s market and economy, the impact that the entrepreneur’s business had on their market, the sustainability and scalability of their business, the entrepreneurial spirit to overcome challenges and hardships, as well as their commitment to corporate social responsibility.
To self-nominate, the nominees simply need to be Malaysians between the ages of 18 and 40, hold a shareholder, director or C-level management of their company and have no records of criminal offenses or bankruptcy. The closing date to self-nominate will be on 12 June, with a fee of RM1500 to cover administrative and other fees. The workshop, titled “Entrepreneur’s AI Growth Lab” consists of multiple workshops covering several topics, and will be led by Caronline Ang, a highly qualified Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDC) Trainer Consultant.
