LUMUT: The Manjung Municipal Council (MPM) has continued its commitment to maintaining cleanliness and vibrancy in public areas through regular cleaning operations across the town.
The initiative covers several public hotspots, including areas near Lumut Jetty, a main gateway for tourists.
The latest cleaning efforts focused on the pedestrian walkway linking the multi-storey parking facility to the jetty.
The route is among the main access points frequently used by visitors and tourists on a daily basis.

MPM said the effort is important to ensure cleanliness is consistently maintained while providing comfort to the public.
It is also part of ongoing measures to preserve the image of a clean and well-organised tourist town.
“The Lumut area plays a key role as the gateway to Pulau Pangkor, which is well known as a major tourist destination in the state.
“As such, cleanliness and maintenance of public infrastructure are given serious attention by the local authority,” MPM said in a statement.

At the same time, the public has been urged to play a role in keeping public areas clean.
Cooperation from all parties is vital to ensure the environment remains clean, safe and conducive.
The continued efforts are expected to enhance the tourist experience and attract more visitors to the area.
MPM remains optimistic that the proactive approach will have a positive impact on the local tourism sector.
