Missing drain covers to be replaced in June, overgrown trees already trimmed

IPOH: Missing drain covers along Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab/Jalan Raja Musa Aziz are expected to be replaced around June, according to a statement by the Ipoh City Council (MBI).

The council also said pruning works were carried out on May 11 following complaints about trees obstructing traffic and pedestrians near the flyover near the Perak State Secretariat (SUK) building.

“MBI has taken note of issues raised by residents regarding trees obstructing public pathways, as well as the missing drain covers near the Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan/SUK Perak flyover area.

“For information, MBI continuously carries out scheduled tree pruning works across Ipoh city, as well as based on public complaints received from time to time.

“In relation to the trees at the location in question, pruning works were conducted on May 11 to ensure the safety and comfort of road users.

“As for the missing drain covers along Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab/Jalan Raja Musa Aziz, installation works will be carried out in June 2026,” the statement said on Thursday.

MBI added that it appreciated public concern in channelling information related to public facilities and urban safety.

Any complaints can be submitted through MBI’s official channels for further action.
