25 UTAR Lecturers Conduct English Odyssey Programme at SK Jalan Pegoh

IPOH: A total of 25 lecturers from the Faculty of Arts and Social Science, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Kampar Campus, conducted the English Odyssey programme at SK Jalan Pegoh.

The programme involved approximately 300 Year 5 and Year 6 pupils, who participated in various interactive English language learning activities.

The initiative aims to cultivate interest among pupils in the English language and boost their confidence in speaking it without hesitation or embarrassment.

A variety of creative and engaging approaches were used to make the learning process more effective and enjoyable.

Programme leader Afi Roshezry Abu Bakar, who is also a UTAR lecturer, said such programmes should be held more frequently to help improve English proficiency among students.

According to him, early exposure through extracurricular activities can help build confidence and improve communication skills.

He also expressed hope that the programme could be expanded to more primary and secondary schools around Ipoh in the future.

The programme reflects UTAR’s commitment to contributing to educational development and empowering the younger generation through English language proficiency.
