SUNGKAI: Sungkai Public Market is reportedly facing a persistent problem involving large numbers of birds, with their droppings contaminating the premises and creating discomfort for traders and visitors.
A complainant claimed that the issue has persisted for the past three years and has worsened significantly in recent months.
According to the complainant, visitors are forced to endure a foul stench caused by the accumulation of bird droppings throughout the market area.
The situation has also raised concerns over public hygiene and the potential spread of diseases, while affecting the cleanliness of a location frequented by the public.
“This problem is affecting the image of the market as well as business activities here. We hope the relevant authorities and the local council will take immediate action.
“We understand that the birds involved are red-eyed birds. The issue has been ongoing for three years, but it has become increasingly severe lately.
“The matter has been reported to the Tapah District Council and the Sungkai state assemblyman. We hope a solution can be found as soon as possible for the benefit of all parties,” the complainant said.
