GOPENG: If you’re looking for the “King of Fruits” at affordable prices, this is the place to be.

The Agro MADANI Mega Sales Programme @ RTC Perak can truly be described as a paradise for durian lovers, offering a wide variety of durians at bargain prices.

High-quality durians are available for as low as RM5 per fruit, while premium Musang King durians are sold at RM100 per basket, with each basket containing five to six fruits.

Village durians are also on sale for only RM4 per kilogram, while 450 Durian Platter Sets are being offered at RM30 each.

Organisers have prepared 20 tonnes of durians and more than 15 tonnes of local fruits, in addition to fresh seafood such as fish and prawns.

Guavas, which normally retail at RM7 per kilogram, are available for just RM4 per kilogram, alongside a wide selection of fruits sold well below market prices.

A major highlight of the programme is the sale of 5,000 MADANI Combo packs at a promotional price of RM10, down from RM20, allowing consumers to enjoy savings of up to 50 per cent.

The Agro MADANI Mega Sales Programme @ RTC Perak is being held over three days and will continue until Sunday.

Earlier, the programme was officially launched by Perak State Executive Councillor for Rural Development, Plantations, Agriculture and Food Industry, Datuk Seri Mohd Zolkafly Harun.

Also present was FAMA Deputy Director-General (Food Security & Operations), Faisal Iswardi Ismail.

Mohd Zolkafly said the Perak State Government, through the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA), remains committed to strengthening the national food security agenda while helping Malaysians cope with the rising cost of living.

He explained that the Agro MADANI Mega Sales Programme is an initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM), implemented by FAMA in collaboration with various government departments and agencies.

“We are targeting 50,000 visitors, with an expected sales value of RM750,000 and consumer savings of RM225,000 throughout the programme.

“The programme brings together 132 exhibition and sales booths involving 89 entrepreneurs, of whom approximately 30 per cent are new entrepreneurs.

“This participation reflects FAMA’s commitment to creating greater marketing opportunities for local entrepreneurs while expanding market access for Perak’s agri-food products,” he said.
