IPOH: A total of 70 participants attended the Women’s, Single Mothers, Persons with Disabilities (PWD) and Community Awareness & Empowerment Programme organised by the Taman Rishah Residents’ Association in collaboration with the Taman Rishah 1B Neighbourhood Watch Committee (KRT).
The programme aimed to raise public awareness on safety, welfare, women’s development and family well-being.


The event featured a safety awareness talk by Inspector Wan Nur Syuhada Wan Marzuki from the Ipoh District Police Headquarters.
Participants were given exposure to cybercrime, online scams and crime prevention measures.


Meanwhile, information on women’s rights, family development and government initiatives was presented by Puan Atika from the Department of Women’s Development.
Patma B. Jayaprakash also delivered a talk focusing on women’s empowerment and inclusive community development.
The programme was chaired by the Chairman of the Taman Rishah Residents’ Association, B. Jayaprakash Bhaskaran, together with members of the organising committee.


During the event, 30 underprivileged recipients also received welfare assistance from the organisers.
The organisers hope the programme will continue to strengthen unity, compassion and the overall well-being of the Taman Rishah community.
Earlier, the opening ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Chairman of the Taman Rishah Residents’ Association, Jeybalan, representing Perak MIC Youth Chief, Theeageesh Ganesesan.
