IPOH: The 2026 Perak Closed 7 Rugby Championship, held at Kem Gua Permai, the 23rd Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment (23 RAMD), successfully brought together rugby players from across Perak, highlighting the state’s growing pool of rugby talent.
The championship served as an important platform to identify and nurture promising players while strengthening the development of rugby in the state.


The tournament featured several categories, including the Under-18 Cup, Open, Bowl, Plate and Under-18 Women’s competitions, with teams displaying strong determination and competitive spirit throughout the event.
In the Under-18 Cup final, Kolej Vokasional (KV) Perak emerged as champions after defeating Sekolah Sains Tapah (SESTA) 22-0.


Meanwhile, in the Open category, Yellow SiC claimed the championship title with a convincing 12-0 victory over UTP Drillers in a closely contested final.
The closing ceremony was officiated by Perak State Secretary, Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, who also presented prizes to the winners.
The championship is expected to continue serving as a platform to produce more talented rugby players capable of representing Perak and Malaysia at higher levels.
