IPOH: Tree pruning works have been carried out along Persiaran Lapangan Siber 1 and Jalan Seri Botani Utama to reduce the risk of overhanging branches disrupting traffic and to improve road safety for motorists.
Simpang Pulai assemblyman Wong Chai Yi said the pruning works were undertaken by the Ipoh City Council (MBI).
She noted that he had previously raised concerns over public safety and the risk of falling trees, incidents that have occurred frequently in the city in recent years.
Several vehicles were damaged after being crushed by fallen trees during storms and strong winds that hit Ipoh previously.
“The works are being carried out to reduce the risk of branches obstructing traffic and to enhance the safety of road users.
“Throughout the duration of the works, motorists are advised to drive with extra caution and to comply with instructions issued by workers at the site,” she said.
